Star Dust, Old Lace, and Grey Flannel suits.

All the last year, while weaving the scarves representing RBG's black SCOTUS robes with a pearly white lace panel, I was contemplating the next weaving projects.

Weavers do that. We put all our effort into designing and then while actually weaving, our minds already are moving on to the next design. How can we change this pattern? What about those other colors on the shelf?  Should I use this pattern again or rethread and rewarp the loom for something else?

I had made enough of the original RBG scarves, changing the lace pattern section for each one, and varying the treadling for the black rosepath section so that each scarf was a slightly different OOAK. I was ready to do something else on the Baby Wolf Loom.

So what should I put on this loom next?

Wait! Didn't I want to try grey with white?  I'm picturing the look of a white scarf on a grey flannel coat. What about that skein of Swiss Mountain Silk, Seasilk in "Star Dust" my good friend gave me as a gift a while back?

So by golly before I scrap this threading, I'm going to tie on a warp of that perfect silvery grey with another creamy white lace panel of the shiny seed yarn, Henry's Attic Shahrazade, alternating with Rayon thick and thin yarn.

The scarf has been woven for several months, but after Christmas, the snowy days were perfect for twisting the fringes and doing the final finishing.

I'm so glad the sun came out for some pictures before sending this scarf off as a surprise to my friend.

KRAKEN WEAVING WINTER 2021-22

Started weaving these in December after I had an order for a couple gifts for Christmas.
One order for University of Colorado at Boulder, and then for a scarf in our new Seattle hockey team, the Kraken's colors. I made two different stripe designs. #heddleandhook

All in Soft thick rayon chenille
